Crossing the Arno River, once to get across and once to look across. Framed structures make the connection from the land to the river. Each one extending past the banks toward the causeways. On the west side these two structures meet and form a path in which one can cross from side to side. On the east side the two structures are separate where they extend outward from the two remaining towers on the site. Both sites extend the existing public zones on the banks of the river.

On the west side it is the Piazze of the San Frediano in Castello and the piazza or the Chiesa di Ognissanti. The eastern side extends where the towers left off. Making way for a pier out into the water that gives access to the road over the existing green way.

The interior of the frame are craft spaces. Circulation on the exterior. Screens are also deployed to provide shading and material for projection during the F-Light celebration that occurs during Florence’s winter months. With the structures on the exterior of the bars the craft spaces have the freedom to reach the water or to have access to the sky above. Some of these places snake through the bars reaching from the levels below he public to the roof level. The public level is set at the same level of the piazzas with the craft spaces above and bellow. Access to each visually is through light wells looking down on gallery spaces or looking above to dumbwaiter likes machines that lower material from the upper floors.
